Hand Forged Cooking Spikes

These Hand Forged Cooking Spikes are designed for mushrooms, prawns, scallops, cherry tomatoes, chicken hearts and small cuts of meat. Sold in sets of four.

Each steel spike is individually forged, blackened by hand and finished with a tactile flattened grip. The inspiration for them came from a visit to Ekstedt at The Yard, where we were served incredibly delicate cod cooked over fire and presented on small spikes much like these.

The slim profile and needle-sharp point cause minimal damage to delicate ingredients, while still being thick enough to stop food spinning as you turn it over the fire.

They're also short enough to fit inside cast iron pans, making them just as useful indoors as they are on the barbecue. For an exceptional crust, try using them with a cooking weight to maximise surface contact.

Why use steel cooking spikes?

Steel conducts heat directly into the centre of the food, helping it cook faster and more evenly than traditional wooden skewers.

Unlike bamboo skewers, they won't burn, splinter or end up in the bin after a single cook. Give them a quick clean, dry them thoroughly and they'll last many lifetimes.

Perfect for

  • Mushrooms
  • Prawns and scallops
  • Chicken hearts
  • Chicken thigh skewers
  • Lamb kebabs
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Halloumi
  • Small vegetables
  • Fire cooking and asado

Care

These cooking spikes are made from blackened steel.

Wash after use, dry thoroughly and store somewhere dry. An occasional wipe with cooking oil will help maintain the finish and keep them looking their best.

Hand forged in small batches.
